“Esther, Sweet Esther” is an original musical, an operetta really, that dramatizes the timeless Biblical story of Esther, a young Jewish woman who miraculously became Queen of Ancient Persia, and saved the Jewish people from destruction.
Faced with the potential annihilation of her people, Esther’s brave decision to petition the King, even if it meant her own death, prevented the genocide of the entire Jewish population throughout the Persian Empire.
